A study of hot pop culture and consumerism. Plaster of Paris, papier-mâché, cardboard, acrylic.
In response to the question of where faries may live in this world - as pop culture has such a defined idea of how they could live (ie. see the Tinkerbell franchise, the Rainbow Magic collection), what about where? The fairy house follows the classic little organic, yet pointed roof style of fairy housing, and is contrasted by a bright white wash highlighting the voided aspect of faries as mythical creatures.
Made using mostly reclaimed and found materials from city streets in the aim of environmental sustainability, and to challenge consumerist norms. Also in the aim of examining what is found nature now - if faries make their homes from naturally found items, what does that leave them with in the modern day.
